About the Visits page. Back to visits/top
This page is under construction. Comments encouraged. 4/5/04

The intent is to make a page that facilitates periodically "visiting"
selected web pages such as mailing list messages archives by recording
and displaying the date of "visits". In the case of mailing lists this
allows one to know where to start if one wishes to pick up where one
last left off reading.
This page stores info about sites and dates in cookies on the users
computer only so each user (who has their own cookies) can use it
independently. It uses JavaScript so both cookies and JavaScript must be
enabled to be used.
I am thinking of using the area on the right of the page to be
configurable short cut links to frequently used pages (without dates)
so the page can serve as a custom all purpose "start page" (also known
as a "home page" tho that term also refers to the main page on a web
site so I prefer "start page").

99) write some documentation, (always done last if at all :)
Should it be 25 sites or 25 "slots"?

0) Consider only storing and showing one date - last date visited.
1) change dates to be stored in string array rather than long string
2) add feature to move series of slots up/down
3) add feature to upload/download descriptions, sites and dates to file
(these files could be edited and moved to another computer)
4) ? make two columns so all sites on first screen?
5) add checkbox to allow heading at top of visits
6) allow for link to associated page - e.g listserv info page.
7) put shortcut links w/o dates on right (could serve as 6) ? )
refer to these by row/column
8) calc and display days since most recent visit
